Cessnock District Netball Association’s senior teams have enjoyed a very successful debut season playing in the Maitland competition under the banner of Cessnock Leagues Netball Club.
The Cessnock club entered five senior teams in the Maitland winter competition: three A-grade teams and two cadets teams (14-to-17-year-olds).
Four of the teams made the semi-finals and two made it to the preliminary final, narrowly missing a spot in the grand final.
“Our teams developed their skills which will really help our teams with their representative careers,” Cessnock District Netball Association secretary Stephanie Clark said.
“All teams performed exceptionally well for our first year in the competition, their uniforms stood out on the courts and it was nice to hear comments from other teams noticing Cessnock in the competition.”
Ms Clark thanked Cessnock Leagues Club for supporting Cessnock District Netball Association’s vision to grow netball in the Cessnock community.
