We all know someone who puts off a doctor visit – Cessnock Leagues Club is helping to change that.
Whether it’s a parent, partner or mate, we all know someone who avoids going to the doctor. That’s why Cessnock Leagues Club is hosting free heart health checks on Thursday, November 27, making it easier for people in our community to take that first step towards better heart health.
The checks are part of Heartbeat of the Community, a national initiative from Heartbeat of Sport and Leagues Clubs Australia, bringing simple, life-saving health checks directly into clubs across the country.
Cessnock Hospitality Group community engagement manager Krystal Sellars said the club is proud to be part of the campaign and to play a role in supporting members and the wider community with accessible, preventative health care.
“We see our club as more than a venue – it’s a place where people come together and look out for each other,” Ms Sellars said.
“Offering free heart checks is a practical way we can give back and make a difference.”
Qualified nurses will be on-site conducting blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar checks. It’s fast, easy and free – with no bookings required and results on the spot.
